Ben Brock Appointed President of Astec, Inc.

	October 16, 2006 Astec, Inc. is pleased to announce effective November 1, 2006; Ben Brock will assume responsibility as President of Astec, Inc. Ben started full-time with the Astec Companies in 1993 and served in numerous positions.  In 1997, Ben transferred to CEI Enterprises in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and served as General Manager.  In 2003, Ben transferred back to Astec, Inc as Vice President of Sales.  We are pleased with Ben's progress in developing the Astec, Inc sales effort over the last three years. As announced earlier this year, Norm Smith will continue with the company to serve as Group Vice President of the Asphalt Group supporting Astec, Inc, Heatec, and CEI Enterprises.  Norm also will continue to serve on the Astec Industries, Inc. Board of Directors. Ben's current position as Vice President of Sales will be determined after his transition and be in place by January 1, 2007.   We welcome Ben to his new position and are comfortable that he is well supported by his capable staff at Astec.
